Vampire Mania

So, I have never watched Buffy or Angel or read any of those Twilight books. The extent of my vampire viewing has been limited to Interview with a Vampire when I was like 13 and then last night my husband got me to watch this new HBO series called True Blood. Since you guys are all crazy for blood suckers, I thought I would share this with you in case you have not yet heard of it. But, being the vampire fans you are, you've probably known about it for months already. But just in case....

Thanks to a Japanese scientist's invention of synthetic blood, vampires have progressed from legendary monsters to fellow citizens overnight. And while humans have been safely removed from the menu, many remain apprehensive about these creatures "coming out of the coffin." Religious leaders and government officials around the world have chosen their sides, but in the small Louisiana town of Bon Temps, the jury is still out.

The first episode kinda creeped me out (not as much as Matt Taylor creeps me out). I didn't enjoy it all that much. The show is based on a series of books. I'm thinking of picking up the first book to see if they're worth reading. There are 8 or 9 books total I think.

Really? I had no idea. I tried to watch the second episode last night but it kind of grossed me out so I had to stop in the middle
